“The Big Brain Theory had an amazing time at the 2011 Battle of the Brains and we’re looking forward to defending the belt and trophy this year! What could be more fun than testing your wit, strategizing, acting goofy, recalling obscure trivia, raising money for a good cause and eating cheesies? From start to finish, the Battle of the Brains is an extremely entertaining evening of fun.”

Each year, the Y is able to provide much needed resources to respond to our community needs such as homelessness; food security and illiteracy through successful programs and services thanks to many community partners, volunteers, donors and fundraising events. Each of the programs ReConnect, Youth Tutor Club, Youth Zone, Caring Community Food Center and Community Garden are offered free of charge to members of our community.

“I’ve seen first hand how the Y helps make our community a better place to live” says Kevin Silliker, Volunteer Committee Member and Emcee of the event. “The YMCA has been in our community for over 140 years, and as a charity has developed trusted relationships and has the physical presence to deliver lasting personal social change and address urgent community problems. Being a part of this event and change in our community is a no-brainer!”
